So far in my life, most of the trips I have taken have been packed full of cultural, historical, and wilderness exploration. I usually try to maximize the time I have and ride the line between a full trip, and a jam packed and exhausting trip. This summer my wife and I decided to try something different for a change. We figured it would be nice to see what this whole “relaxing vacation” thing is all about so we went and booked a one week vacation to the Caribbean. Well, despite our best efforts we couldn’t help but plan some things to do, albeit at a much more relaxing pace.

So here are my photos of our time exploring Old San Juan, the rain forest and other areas on Puerto Rico, the island of St. Croix, and my snorkeling photos taken in the reefs just off shore of our resort in St. Croix.  Overall, it was nice to have a much slower pace to things, but I discovered that I don’t think it is possible for me to actually sit on a beach and do absolutely nothing.
